Free Memory Card Boot (FMCB) is a homebrew software which is designed to setup your PlayStation 2 console and provide you with a means of launching homebrew software, without the need for any extra hardware, modifications to your console or dangerous tricks like the legendary swap trick.

FMCB was originally developed by Neme and Jimmikaelkael, but they have been kind enough to provide me with access to its source code, for me to make some improvements to it.
Changelog for v1.92:
Fix for the SCPH-70000 series consoles: Added a IOP reset at the start of FMCB, so that the IOP will contain the same modules across all console models.
Fixed the kernel patch (See PS2SDK updates for today and yesterday) for the SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000.
Removed IOP reset from the EE ELF loader, as some homebrew software depend on the loaded modules for file access.
The patch for sceCdForbidDVDP() will now be specially invoked earlier on for the Protokernel OSD, as the bulk of the patch code is run after sceCdForbidDVDP() is run by the OSD. This solves DVD booting.
Adjusted DVD video/ESR-patched disc booting code, so that a definite result will result (Either a BootError or the disc boots).
Optimized code.
Fixed OSDSYS patch for the SCPH-10000 with boot ROM v1.00. The HDD modules should now be loaded when the card is inserted in slot 1.
Added code that kills all threads but the main thread. When control is wrenched from the hacked OSD, any thread created by the OSD is left behind and that can result in weird behaviour (e.g. if the stray thread(s) reinitializes a RPC connection with the IOP, especially during an IOP reset). This fixes ELF launching on the SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000, when the OSD is reloaded.

Changelog for v1.91:
Fixed ESR support.
Removed calls to FlushCache() before ExecPS2(). The Sony documents say that it's a requirement because the game might be running on an unpatched Protokernel.
However, FMCB will patch the kernel at startup and this is not required.
Changed the splash image to a 16-bit bitmap. 30KB of space is saved... but the overall gain (after packing) is minimal because graphics isn't a really compressible sort of data.
For FHDB: The HDD unit will not be powered-off when the ROM OSD is used.

COMPATIBILITY:

Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix (Gummi Fix)
Baldar's Gate Series (HDD)
Champions of Norrath (HDD)
New Mode 7 fixes stuttering with games such as DDR and Pop'N Music (HDD ONLY!)

NOTE 1 - An IGR from OPLGSM to OPL (and vice versa) has produced BSODs in our initial tests. We're looking into this quirk. In the mean time, consider power-cycling the PS2 before switching between GSM and non-GSM builds, or populate your IGR Path specifically with a GSM-build - our tests show when GSM is enabled and still resident, an IGR directly to a GSM-build rarely produces the BSOD (likewise with Vanilla OPL IGR'ing directly to Vanilla OPL) ...
Introduction
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open PS2 Loader (OPL) is a 100% Open source game and application loader for
the PS2 and PS3 units. It now supports *.ISO images on HDD, Ethernet SMB
shares, and USB while also maintaining compatibility with USB Advance/Extreme
format. It's now the most compatible homebrew loader and it should work
without ps2load or change DNASXXX.IMG tricks.

OPL is also developed continuously - anyone can contribute improvements to
the project due to its open source nature.

For updated compatibility lists, visit the Open PS2 Loader forum at:

http://www.psx-scene.com/

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
How to use
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

OPL uses the same directory tree structure across HDD, SMB, and
USB modes ...

--- "CD" (for games on CD media - i.e. blue-bottom discs)
--- "DVD (for DVD5 images; DVD9 images on USB must be split)
--- "VMC" (for 8MB Virtual Memory Card images)
--- "CFG" (for saving per-game configuation files)
--- "ART" (for box and disc art images)
--- "THM" (for themes support)

---
USB
---
Game files on USB must be perfectly defragmented either file by file or
by whole drive, and Dual Layer DVD9 images must be split to avoid the 4GB
limitations of the FAT32 file system. We recommend Power Defragmenter
for best defragging results, and our own comman line tool iso2usbld to
convert or split games into USB Advance/Extreme format ...

RejZoR - Power Defragmenter 3.0 released!

Other utilities are: USBUtil 2.0, USB Extreme installer or USB Insane.

---
SMB
---
For loading games by SMB protocol you need to share a folder (ex: PS2SMB)
on the host machine or NAS device and make sure that it has full read and
write permissions. USB Advance/Extreme format is optional - *.ISO images
are supported using the folder structure above with the added bonus that
DVD9 images don't have to be split if your SMB device uses the NTFS or
EXT3/4 file system.

----
HDD
----
For PS2, 48-bit LBA internal HDDs up to 1TB are supported. They have to be
formatted with either WINHIIP or uLaunch. From there, use uLaunch to make a
partition (rec. minumum of 2GB) named "OPL". If OPL detects this partition
at start up, it'll automatically create the above directory structure. Use
it to migrate ART, THEMES, CFGs, VMCs, etc. off your MC or USB stick to the
internal HDD and free up space on those devices.

To launch OPL, you can use any of the existing methods for loading an
executable elf.

On PS3, you need an original SwapMagic 3.6+ or 3.8 disc (at the moment
there aren't any other options). The steps for loading OPL on a PS3 are:

1. Rename OPNPS2LD.ELF to SMBOOT0.ELF
2. Make a folder in root of USB device called SWAPMAGIC and copy
SMBOOT0.ELF to it.
3. Launch SwapMagic in PS3 and press UP+L1 then Open PS2 Loader should
start.

There are 4 forms for launching elfs in SwapMagic.

SMBOOT0.ELF = UP + L1
SMBOOT1.ELF = UP + L2
SMBOOT2.ELF = UP + R1
SMBOOT3.ELF = UP + R2

Some notes for devs

PlayStation 2-т зориулсан Sega Genesis/Mega Drive эмулятор
PicoDrive (PlayStation 2 port)

Update 2013/09/23: v1.12: Features fixup.
Update 2013/09/22: v1.11: Features fixup.
Update 2013/09/21: v1.10: Updated to PicoDrive v1.51b.
Update 2013/09/14: Initial public release.

This is a port of PicoDrive v1.51b for the PlayStation 2 console. Although another Megadrive emulator called PGEN does exist, I never remembered that it was able to run games like Sonic 3 at full 60 FPS.

I figured that anything good enough for the PSP would be also good enough for the PlayStation 2... especially since its EE (The "main" CPU) is a 64-bit MIPS with some 128-bit instructions. And so I ported PicoDrive v1.51b over from the PSP to the PlayStation 2.

Why port v1.51b?

Why not the new v1.85 which was released recently long ago by Notaz himself? It's because the PSP port within it appears to be dysfunctional and outdated. I wanted to have something that already works to work on, so that I would have a higher chance to succeed at porting. Even if the port was successfully made without the missing assembly stub (The C alternative could be used instead), it won't be as fast as a fully working copy of v1.51b.

What can I expect from this port?

The basic functionality from PicoDrive v1.51b in general (game compatibility rates, SEGA Megadrive and MegaCD support etc.)
Two-player support (Multitaps are not supported).
Support for the HDD unit, USB mass storage devices and the memory card.
Hardware bilinear filtering support.
Support for the L3 and R3 buttons, as well as the analog sticks (Press the MODE button to enable/disable this functionality).
Support for the NTSC, PAL, 480P and 240P video modes.
Changelog for v1.12:

Compiled this port with a fixed up PS2SDK (Refer to the PS2SDK updates made today).
Game-specific configuration file saving has been fixed in #1.
Fixed the saving of the VSYNC mode setting (Appears to be a bug in PicoDrive v1.51 actually).
Fixed the directory scanning function of the main menu to be compatible with USBHDFSD (Root directory doesn't have the CWD entry).
Fixed the directory traversal code to be compatible with PFS (The PFS module doesn't allow directory listing if the directory's name isn't succeeded by a slash character).
Added letterboxing for the badly aligned 480P screen (So that the 640x480 screen will get displayed nicely in 720x480).
The emulator will now assume that the ROMs are located on the same device that its stored on.
HDD support has been revamped: It's now supported only under #5 (if the emulator is stored on the same partition as the ROMs), and will only work properly if the launcher passes the path to the emulator properly. As usual, launching the emulator off a partition on the HDD with uLaunchELF will not be supported. FHDB, on the other hand, is fine.
Fixed the deletion of the temporary configuration files and the creation of the dumps folder (Only used for debugging).
Updated the combo detection code of the emulator to identify that the left thumbstick can't be used in a button combination (Fixes the inability to use the left thumbstick in place of the D-pad).
Notes/known issues:

The progressive scanning option will not be saved. This is a deliberate limitation, since the PlayStation 2 has no built-in recovery mode in the event that the user enables progressive scanning but the connected display does not support progressive scanning (The Sony TRC forbids game developers from storing the HD mode settings too).
The screen in progressive scanning mode (480P) seems to be cut off at the sides on my TV... but I'm not sure why (hence I can't fix it).
The emulator must be placed in either a memory card, a USB mass storage device or the HDD unit, for saving to work.
For the skin to be loaded properly, the emulator must be stored on a memory card or the HDD unit. The USB drivers may take a while to detect the USB device, and hence the USB device cannot be accessed during the emulator's startup process.
Due to #5, the emulator's required folders may not be created when the emulator is started up. If they don't exist, the emulator will be unable to save. A workaround would be to manually create the "brm", "cfg", "mds" and "srm" folders within the folder that the emulator is stored in.
Due to #5 and #4, the emulator's configuration may not be loaded at startup if the device cannot be accessed.
Anything under "Future enhancements" isn't going to be done by me for v1.51b because I feel that it's not going to be productive for me at this moment.

Future enhancements:

Port PicoDrive v1.85 over, although the assembly memory module stubs need to be written from scratch.
Connect with Notaz and get the PlayStation 2 port of v1.85 integrated with his repository (So that it'll automatically receive updates whenever PicoDrive gets updated).
Probably fix up the text colour code within menu.c. It currently works because the default colours are black (for the background) and white (for the text). The alpha bit (Bit 15) is set accordingly because black is 0x0000 (transparent) and white is 0xFFFF (Opaque). Since they are at the extreme ends of the colour values, the fact that the GS doesn't use R5G6B5 (It uses A1B5G5R5, where A1 at 1 = opaque) isn't apparent.
Prerequisites for compiling the PlayStation 2 port's source code (Please use their latest available versions!):

libmad and its dependencies.
libpng and its dependencies.
gsKit and its dependencies.
The homebrew PS2SDK.

Free Memory Card Boot (FMCB) v.1.93

Changelog:
Fixed support for the PSX (DVR unit). It will now boot properly, and sets the EE and CD/DVD drive into "PS2 mode".
Changed the way arguments are passed to the OSD program. FMCB will no longer parse and repeat the arguments, but passes the arguments directly to the OSD program "as-is".
Recompiled the FMCB configurator to have the updated FMCB release version number. Also, with this recompilation, the Protokernel patch within it has been updated (Note: This doesn't really matter because the patch from the FMCB binary would have already been applied).
The MBR program's EELOAD module had it's argument storage widened, so that it can take in 16 user arguments (To avoid buffer overflows, since the code within it was always limiting the number of accepted arguments to 16).
Added a clone of the kernel update for the SCPH-10000 (v1.01) and SCPH-15000.
Fixed OSD configuration setup for the SCPH-50009. Its OSD sets its "region" field to 2 instead of 1, despite this console being in the NTSC region.
Modified the "inner browser" setting to allow the user to specify how FMCB/FHDB will handle booting into the OSD (Either always boot into the browser or not, or just let the browser have its default behaviour).
For those who wish to edit this setting by hand, the valid values are as follows: 0 = AUTO, 1 = force ON (always boot into the browser), 2 = force OFF (always stay out of the browser). It was made this way for backward compatibility.
Removed the "return to loader" option, since I had no intent on maintaining it. The user can put uLaunchELF basically anywhere, and uLaunchELF isn't part of FMCB anyway.
FMCB will now no longer display the FMCB logo when software like the DVD player quits, to match the behaviour of the OSD program.
EDIT 2013/10/13: FMCB v1.93 released: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/fmc...ml#post1091993 (FMCB v1.9 series release thread)
EDIT 2013/08/24: Added the MBR checker diagnostic tool, for troubleshooting purposes.

EDIT 2013/08/19: FMCB v1.91 released: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f153/fmc...ml#post1079170 (FMCB v1.9 series release thread)

As the thread title suggests, I thought of splitting off the discussion of FMCB-related content from the installer's (Which is quite lengthy).

***

FMCB v1.93 has been released! It now supports the Protokernel consoles, the HDD OSD (Browser v2.00), and the PSX (DVR unit).

It's intended to be the next-generation version of FMCB, since it now supports the HDD unit (with FHDB, the HDD-enabled version of FMCB). FMCB v1.8C is to become the stable version of FMCB, until the v1.9 series has been tested and proven to become stable.

What is FMCB?

Free Memory Card Boot (FMCB) is a homebrew software which is designed to setup your PlayStation 2 console and provide you with a means of launching homebrew software, without the need for any extra hardware, modifications to your console or dangerous tricks like the legendary swap trick.

FMCB was originally developed by Neme and Jimmikaelkael, but they have been kind enough to provide me with access to its source code, for me to make some improvements to it.

What is FHDB?

Free Harddisk Drive Boot (FHDB) is basically FMCB that gets installed onto the PlayStation 2 console's HDD unit. It does everything like FMCB does, but is meant to be used with the Sony HDDOSD (Browser update v2.00).

Patched/modified copies of the HDDOSD may not work, although non-Sony disks are supported by FHDB itself.
***Whether the hacked HDD OSD supports non-Sony disks or not depends on whether it was modified to support non-Sony disks.***

Modifying or getting a pre-modified copy of the HDDOSD is not under this project, which is why that topic will not be discussed here.

What does FMCB v1.9 offer?

For mere humans:
Smaller, faster and more stable. :P
The HDD unit is now supported.
The "Early Japanese"/PCMCIA units (SCPH-10000, SCPH-15000 and SCPH-18000) are fully supported.
Chinese consoles are now supported (e.g. SCPH-50009).
Support for the PSX DVR (Currently dysfunctional).
When you leave the CD/DVD tray ejected, FMCB/FHDB will not stall.
Your play history will now be updated (The towers in the background of the "Sony computer entertainment" screen should continue to grow taller and greater in numbers)

Technical changes:
Initialization code has been cut down.
Some IRX modules (init.irx and chkesr.irx) have been removed (superceded by code that runs from the EE, like their Sony originals).
DVD player selection code has been replaced with one similar to the one used by Sony.
The console initialization code has been replaced with a Sony-like version.
CNF parsing code has been optimized.
The memory map has been adjusted slightly, so everything now fits below Sony's idea of "user memory" (below 0x00100000).
Support for the Protokernel and all HDD OSDs have been added.
(For the HDDOSD version of FMCB only) ELFs can be booted from any partition on the HDD. The format of the path is <partition>:<full path to file on pfs:/>. (e.g. hdd0:__sysconf:pfs:/FMCB/FMCB_configurator.elf).
This can be easily set using the included FMCB/FHDB configurator.
The CD/DVD drive will now be stopped if a normal ELF is started (Under the assumption that most homebrew ELFs probably won't ever use the drive).
The user's history file (the file which affects the towers within the "Sony Computer Entertainment" startup screen) will now be updated whenever Playstation/Playstation 2 game/software discs are launched, as well as DVD video discs.
Reloading the OSD from within the OSD triggers a full reload of FMCB, because I felt that it'll be cleaner.
The location of ESR will now be checked only when ESR is requested to be loaded.
The embedded EELOAD module has been cleaned up, and loads at 0x00082000 instead (Like rom0:EELOAD does).
FMCB has been split into two. The part of FMCB which remains resident will be copied into its place during runtime, allowing the initialization part of it to have the entire PlayStation 2 for initialization and drawing something nice on the screen (Not done at the moment as it makes FMCB quite a fair bit larger).
Full support for the SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000. Not only will it patch up the SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000 kernels fully (Applies OSD argument-passing patch), it also includes its own HDD support modules and can act as a replacement for the Sony system driver update.
Prototype support for the PSX. Its OSD is not supported, meaning that there will be no hacked OSD for the PSX.
Supports non-Sony HDD units (Support for non-Sony HDD units within the HDD OSD/browser v2.00 update depends on the HDD OSD itself).
New FMCB configurator program which supports the HDD unit.
Added support for the Chinese consoles (Magicgate region 09, folder letter C. e.g. SCPH-50009).

Please read the included README file for information regarding limitations/known issues and other important notes!

***
Note: If you have problems getting FHDB to boot (No FMCB logo), then you might have a problem with your HDD. Please download and run this tool to determine what's wrong: http://www.mediafire.com/download/fm...Checker_bin.7z

MBR checker is a diagnostic tool for determining whether your hardware is suitable for running FHDB.

Disks that fail the S.M.A.R.T. test are about to fail, and should be replaced.

If the partition bad sector check fails, it means that your disk has been marked as having bad sectors by a filesystem driver. Using WinHIIP's scan and repair function should solve that, assuming that the bad sector(s) was remapped by the drive successfully. Alternatively, a format with WinHIIP or uLaunchELF should solve it too, at the expense of all unbacked-up data.

Free Memory Card Boot (FMCB) v.1.94
Changelog for v1.94:

Corrected the stack address of all cores (FMCB main core, MBR and EE ELF loader).

Corrected the buffer overflow bug within the OSD history updating function.

Added an additional IOP reset for the PSX to load the standard PS2 modules into the IOP, since that the the reinitialization of libcdvd seemed to cause the CD/DVD drive to strangely malfunction.

Restructured the initialization code, for better integration of #3.
The CD/DVD drive boot certification code has been replaced with a simpler one that was copied from the Sony OSD.

Updated to be compilable with the latest PS2SDK revision.

Compiled with the latest PS2SDK revision for enhanced stability.

The IOP will now be reset for programs that are loaded from the HDD.

Sony does this, presumably to clear the IOP of modules like DEV9 (or in our case, hack'ish stuff like IOMANX), which would cause problems if loaded twice.

Standardized the crt0 module's argument buffer size for the EE ELF loader, FMCB core and main body.

Corrected region handling for when an unsupported regions.

Fixed the default language selection, for export consoles that have the language set to Japanese (usually caused by having a dead battery) or some bogus setting.

Note: As 2014/06/29, FMCB v1.8c will no longer be officially circulated as FMCB v1.9 seems to have achieved proven stability.

Re: PlayStation 2 хак

Post by Nacho »

- Crash Tag Team Racing
- Twisted Metal Black Online

Үүний тулд Network Adaptor Start-Up Disc (USA).iso диск хэрэг болно.

Post by Nacho »

ATA HDD model: Western Digital WD2500JB 250GB
